Our Team


The Safer Girls Safer Women Project is a 3-year project to develop a National Framework and Best Practice Guidelines for sexual health, respectful relationships and consent education. The team is based with Sexual Health and Family Planning ACT, as well as consulting partners.

Sheridan Kerr

Sheridan is the Senior Director at SHFPACT and the Safer Girls Safer Women Project Lead. In her current and previous roles, she has advocated for the right for children, young people and adults with disability to access meaningful and engaging relationships and sexuality education. Sheridan has worked across disability and all education sectors supporting staff to create classrooms and environments that are safe for all.

Mel Harrison

Mel has extensive experience in motivational speaking, consultancy and education, for over a decade. Diversity and inclusion are a huge passion for Mel as she strives to break down barriers, remove stereotypes about people with disability and show that there is ability within everyone.

Sue Gore Phillips

Sue has been working in community services for over 15 years across a number of organisations, predominantly as a Team Leader or Program Manager. Sue has overseen the delivery of Children’s services, Individual & Family support services, a Mental Health Recovery program, and as a Community Engagement Officer. She brings every part of this experience to her Program Lead role for the SoSAFE program.

Millie Hayes

Millie's background ranges across commercial, government and education. They are a passionate writer, focusing on empathy, playfulness and attention to detail. Millie is also focused in relationship-building, problem-solving and open-minded listening in their communications role.

Cate Barclay

Cate is a disabled woman with ample lived and professional experience within the disabled community. Her background includes working in not for profit organisations, government, and education settings. She brings her passion for inclusion, Easy Read writing skills, and accessibility knowledge to the team.

Danielle Dal Cortivo

Danielle is passionate about creating opportunities for all, having co-founded her own charity, raize the roof, social entreprise Free the V and through her work with business leaders. With her strategic public health, communications and leadership expertise she runs a consulting company and was the previous CEO of the Asthma Foundation ACT and Asthma Foundation of Victoria.

Camille Schloeffel

Camille joins our team after working in Government across sexual violence, online harms and child abuse policy areas. She is a passionate activist for the prevention of sexual violence and promotion of sexual wellbeing, including through her role as Founder and Director of The STOP Campaign.

James McDougall

Principled and pragmatic, James’ experience in management, governance, law and policy has focused on supporting children, young people, their families and their communities. His work in safety spans the globe and a range of communities.

The Safer Girls Safer Women office is located on the land of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Custodians of Country and their continuing connection to land, sea, culture and community.
